Plot Summary
A young criminal police investigator, Roman Skulte, starts working as a police officer in Riga in the mid-1990s. Skulte is full of enthusiasm and a desire to change the world, cleaning it of the crime and corruption that bothers him.
He quickly realizes that idealism won’t get him far, and in order to fight both the criminal world and his own precinct, he will have to break rules and principles.
The plot lines of the film take Skulte down various paths and detours, but the epicenter of the story is the “interior” of the young cop’s personality and the question of his moral strength. Is it possible to remain with a clear conscience while solving dirty problems? Who knows...
Reviews
• The dialogue seemed natural and you could feel sympathy for the main character. I was really worried and wondered how they would survive. Definitely the best modern Latvian film I've ever seen.
• Although I'm not a fan of crime themes, I really liked it and it didn't seem too long. In fact, it's a rare film during which I didn't look at my watch. The plot constantly keeps your attention, creates a light tension.
• It's noticeable that the actors are not theater actors - the behavior in the frame is not artificial, the frame is immediately much more enjoyable!
