THE NEWEST GENERATION OF ARTISTS

As part of its year-long 120th anniversary celebration, the Latvian Society is featuring an exhibit of works, 30 under 30 (Sept. 7-9), by the youngest generation of artists, many of whom have recently graduated from

Philadelphiaarea or other art schools.  Both Latvian-Americans and local artists will exhibit a range of works in various media and techniques.  Mooregraduates include Marah Carpenter with truly daring fashions and Carissa Marinelli’s socially conscious paintings.  San Francisco-based Alex Hagelis will share animation frames from Megamind and game designs for Zingo, while Kriss Judovics includes his moving work 9-11-2001 and Lily Howell shows paintings.  PAFA MFA student Emily Schnellbacher’s soft sculptures contrast with Tylergraduate Nathaniel Mell’s robust freestanding metaphorical works.  Nicole Marie Harvey, a University of the Arts graduate, will show photographs, Laila Milevski has contributed prints inspired from literature and life, and art student Marisa Rasums offers three drawings.  Come see these exciting new works by student and recent graduate artists!  Exhibit goers may also meet the artists socially in the Society’s bar.
